Screenweaver is now FREE.

Wow. They just open-sourced Screenweaver! I've used it a lot in the past, and it's a pretty handy tool for making screensavers and desktop apps.

The API is nice, because they were one of the first EXE tools to use dot-syntax calls instead of an FSCommand structure.

Finally, there's an open-source option for Flash folks who want to make powerful desktop applications.

32 channels of audio in Flash 8!

I just read on Eric Dolecki's blog that Flash 8 will support 32 channels of audio instead of the current 8 channels. WAHOO!

When building games, you tend to run out of sounds pretty quick. Voices, background music, footsteps, shots, explosions, enemy sounds -- it adds up quick.

Thanks, Macromedia! I cannot wait to get my hands on 8!
