I was talking to a friend about how he needs to get with it and pick up a TiVo. So many of us in the office time-shift our TV. Then I remembered something...

A standard Series 2 TiVo DVR unit is now FREE, as long as you sign up for a year of monthly service.

I wouldn't recommend the games that come as part of the Home Networking option, though. The remote control response is unbelievably slow and frustrating.
